‘American Idol’ Singer Phillip Phillips Responds To Prom Invite On ‘GMA’

Carly Meyers is a big fan of Phillip Phillips, so much so that it covered one of his visits to invite him to her prom in high school.


 
In his YouTube invite, published April 6, guitar - . " Prom, Dance , Dance " Meyers plays skillfully playing the singer hit "American Idol ," "Gone , Gone, Gone" , changing it to

" Phillip , if you're free May 16 will be the one in the red dress :) , " Meyers, a senior in the School Gill St. Bernard in Gladstone , New Jersey, wrote in the video description.

Meyers appeared live on “GMA” today as part of "Epic Prom Week" series and said that she wrote the song for fun, but “secretly” hoped his own “Idol" would see it.

“When I thought about my dream date dance, I just always thought it,"
Meyers said. “I love writing songs. I love their songs. So I thought it was kind of put together. [I] did it for fun, but with the secret hope that he would see it."

Phillips saw the video, along with over 2,000 other people who had seen as of Wednesday night.

In a video that aired today on " GMA " Phillips Meyers led directly , saying that he had seen her dance proposal , adding , " It sounded so lovely. "

Phillips Meyers said he is unable to make her prom, but then surprised her with tickets for her and her friends for their show on July 12 at PNC Bank Arts Center in New Jersey.
Meyers , who had not only spoken eloquently about his dream date , but it also takes a little bit of your song, rendered speechless after seeing Phillips , panting and clutching her hand to her mouth.
